Our Pastor and First Lady
Rev. Dr. Linden Bowie, Sr Pastor
Michelle Bowie, First Lady

Our Pastor

Linden Bowie is the proud son of Reverend Alcide and Encie Bowie, of whom he has the privilege to pastor. Saved at the age of six years old, he joined the Clayton Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Willie L. Rhodes. He later united with the True Light Missionary Baptist Church where his pastor and teacher was Reverend Dr. E. Stanley  Howlett.

Pastor Bowie was licensed to preach the Gospel in August 1981. Dr Howlett ordained Pastor Bowie after intense study and training in September 1984. Pastor Bowie’s journey took him to the Zion Travelers Missionary Baptist Church to assist Pastor William Triggs, when his health began to fail. Upon Reverend Triggs’ retirement, the Lord moved on the hearts of the members to call Reverend Linden Bowie as their Pastor in December 1987. All the while, he was employed at the Army Reserve Personnel Center. He remained employed there until 2002. After 20 years of being a loyal and committed employee, he resigned in order to serve a growing ministry at Zion Travelers.

Our pastor’s educational journey spring-boarded as he graduated from Northwest High School, matriculated at Grambling State University, Grambling, Louisiana, Western Illinois State University, Macomb, Illinois, Florissant Valley Community College, Harris-Stowe State College and finally Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. His biblical studies were enhanced when he enrolled in the New World Bible Institute, where he successfully completed the course studies and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Behavior and a Masters of Ministry Degree from New World Theology Seminary.  Later he received a Doctor of Divinity degree from the Anchor Theological Seminary.

Pastor Bowie served as Moderator of the Berean Missionary Baptist District Association from July 2000 to July 2005. As Moderator, he served as Board Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of H.E.L.P., Inc. (the non-profit subsidiary of Berean). He is founder of the ZT Community Involvement Association (CIA), Inc. He is a certified instructor of the District, State and National Congresses of Christian Education. Pastor Bowie is the Camp Pastor of the WMU State Youth Camp of Missouri. He is Vice-President of CDEC-22, (a 22nd Ward Community Development Corporation-St. Louis, MO).  He serves as CEO of NCCP (North County Community Project- a collaborative community effort in North St. Louis County). He is involved in numerous other efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior. In 2007, he was elected and served as the Executive Secretary for the Missionary Baptist State Convention. In December 2016, he was elected President of the Missionary Baptist State Convention.

Pastor Bowie is husband to his beloved wife, Michelle. They have been blessed with three daughters: Jocyln Michelle, Rachel Lynn and Christina Melissa, one son-in-law, Michael and six grandchildren: Michael Jr., Joy, Christal, Elijah, Jordan and Armon Jr.
